The first annual Fingal International Festival of Voices will take place from March 12 - 15, 2020. The festival will welcome children's, youth and adult choirs from Ireland, and around the world to the seaside town of Balbriggan for a colourful weekend of singing, story-telling and competitions culminating with one ensemble winning the Fingal Grand-Prix trophy and €3000.
The festival is focused on celebrating diversity and will provide a platform for individuals and communities to showcase their culture in locations across Balbriggan and the surrounding areas. Workshops and classes on singing, folk-music and story-telling will be available to anyone attending the festival and will be led by our national and international guests.
Across the weekend of the festival, there will also be events, activities and shows for all the family, including fun and food at the festival pavilion. Candlelit tales will breathe new life into Irish myths and legends at evening shows in St George's church, and our younger visitors can make archaeological discoveries at The Big Dig.
